Tibetan Women with a Blue Umbrella, India
McLeod Ganj, India, serves as the residence for His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. He has called it home since leaving Tibet over fifty years ago, spurred by the pressure and restrictions imposed by the Chinese government (as well as death threats). Since then, India has kept its borders open to countless Tibetans so that they may freely practice their religion. A visit to McLeod Ganj feels like a visit to Tibet.
